Kodi Smit-McPhee, who is set to play as the young Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, recently talked about the upcoming movie "X-Men: Apocalypse." Here are the details (courtesy of Comic Book Resources Spin Off Online):
Kodi said that he had an audition for the role. "They got me to do -which I really liked - -one of Alan Cumming's scenes, where he was explaining the scars on his body were from archangel Gabriel. And they just had me do it in the accent. So I think that was really smart. I didn't know if it was going to be in the actual movie, as like a moment rebooted. But it wasn't."
In a separate report from Entertainment Weekly, the actor was cited saying that he is still working and honing his German accent at the moment.
The Australian actor also talked about the make-up and prosthetics. He revealed that there is not much prosthetics.
Though the actor admitted that he has indeed seen the script, he did not provided further details about it. He added that it remains "very top-secret" at the moment. He also said that he would love to give fans the best or what they are expecting so he is working and researching on his role and on the story.
"I'm kind of researching everything from when Nightcrawler himself was created as a character. So seeing everyone's take on it, what people have liked to keep about him, and then what they've liked to take away from him. I've followed his journey of evolution and the kind of story that's evolved for him now, which is running away from the suffering that's being in the circus and his freakish looks, and finding God, and faith... So I'm doing so much research definitely - on Alan Cumming's take, on the comic books, on even the cartoons," the actor told Spin Off.
The actor (in his EW interview) lauded movie director Bryan Singer for the teasers he previously released via Instagram and Twitter, specifically the one that revealed his role. Here is Singer's Instagram post announcing Kodi as Nightcrawler.
Remember that Singer also took to Instagram to to reveal new movie characters. Earlier, Singer shared a photo screenshot of his tweet naming Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, and Alexandra Shipp as Storm.
