A gamer has recreated LeBron James' epic game-winning jumper against the Chicago Bulls to tie the series 2-2.
Fansided described the 2K15 recreation as "lifelike that it's actually kind of scary."
Here's why.
YouTube user Shady00018 made an excellent video that was almost the same as LeBron's play in Game 4 at the United Center in Chicago on May 10. The clip is one minute and 32 seconds long, initially showing the game title "NBA 2K15", followed by "Operation Sports". A shot of LeBron followed, walking on the court in his blue Cleveland jersey. His face seemed to ponder on Game 3, where Derrick Rose drilled a long three-pointer at the buzzer to win the game for the Bulls. A shot of LeBron bending over in defeat was shown, as the game commentator excitedly announced in the background that the Bulls won.
After the flashback, LeBron looked at the shot clock, with 1.5 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of Game 4, and the game tied at 84.
In the actual play, SB Nation wrote that the Cavaliers had no timeouts. James sprinted down the court but the ball was knocked out of bounds with 0.8 seconds remaining. A referee review reset the block to 1.5 seconds. Kevin Love inbounded the ball and found James, who just shoved Jimmy Butler aside to get enough room deep in the left corner to get a clear shot and win the game 86-84.
Back in the game recreation, the Cavs were shown celebrating together after James hit the shot. Butler dropped to the floor in disbelief and Bulls fans bowed and shook their heads in disappointment. Rose's face was grim, knowing that LeBron countered his feat in Game 3. More angles of the game-winning shot were shown and the video faded with LeBron being lifted by his teammates. The hashtag #StriveForGreatness followed.
Lebron's record buzzer-beater
In another article, SB Nation stated that it was LeBron's third career buzzer-beater in a postseason game, tying Michael Jordan's record. ESPN Stats & Info showed that LeBron currently made four go-ahead shots in the last seconds of playoff games.
No other NBA player has hit more shots in the past 15 years. In the playoffs, he made six out of 10 go-ahead shots in the last five seconds of the fourth quarter or overtime. Michael Jordan hit 5 out of 11 during his career. With the new feat, LeBron has established himself as one of the premier clutch players in the NBA, SB Nation noted.
