Miley Cyrus showed a positive way to create a statement. The "Wrecking Ball" singer posted several photos on her Instagram account to showcase her newly-colored armpits for a noble cause.

Miley Cyrus dyed her unshaven armpits pink. While everyone thinks she is doing it to call attention to herself, her cause is much more noble than that.

With Cyrus' public influence, she established her nonprofit venture called, Happy Hippie Foundation, which "provides homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable youth populations with consistent support services, education and employment opportunities."

The singer said it is about time that she used her influence to good use. In a phone interview with AP last Monday, she said, "The position I'm in, I feel like I've got a lot of power. But so many kids don't feel that way. They're under their parents' rule."

It was reported by the National Coalition for the Homeless that there are more than 1.6 million homeless youth in the U.S, 40 percent of which have self-identified themselves as LGBT.

With this huge issue at hand, Cyrus calls everyone's attention to this community. "It's like, I know you're going to look at me more if my (breasts) are out, so look at me. And then I'm going to tell you about my foundation for an hour and totally hustle you," said Cyrus.

This time, she does it with pink armpits hair. The effort seeks to send her message to people, which is to not tell her what to do but instead accept even her "expletive self." She wants everyone to have the same privilege, living their lives according to their authentic selves.

Cyrus has been turning everyone's attention since she was 14. However, lately, she has become even more vocal about some of the societal issues she feels strongly about -- LGBT issues, homelessness, and feminism.

It could be remembered that she asked a homeless man to accept her award at the VMAs last year for Video of the Year. The Texas-born singer also noted that she was moved by transgender Leelah Alcorn's suicide last year.

She is also very dedicated on other issues such as animal welfare and climate change, but she is most passionate about the homeless youth. "It's something that everyone sees," she said. "It's like the birds chirping. We're consciously ignoring it at all times, but it's always happening right in front of us."

Yesterday, Cyrus launched a video to highlight the causes that Happy Hippie Foundation is working on. The video is about a song she collaborated with rock legend Joan Jett, titled "Different."

Jett commended Cyrus and her efforts to bring awareness to the homeless youth. "I think what Miley's doing is wonderful and important to help people find their authentic selves," Jett told Rolling Stone. "I'm proud to be a part of it."

Miley is not the only girl with long, unshaven armpits hair. The armpits hair trend was initiated by hairstylist Roxie Hunt to encourage women to be "unapologetic" for having unshaven pits.

In Hunt's post for Off Beat Home, she said, "more and more often, I am meeting women who un-apologetically choose not to succumb to the societal pressure of scraping a razor against the soft skin of their bodies. If you recall, I want to celebrate pit hair."
