Sony has just unveiled its latest handset, the new Xperia Z4. Yet, rumors are already circulating that an Xperia Z5 is arriving soon.
Android Origin earlier reported that the Xperia Z5 and its Ultra and Compact variants would come out in the last quarter of the year. "Since Sony didn't announce the Xperia Z4 at the Mobile World Congress this year, many expected that Sony would not be announcing a second flagship device this year...Sony is targeting a Q4 announcement of the Xperia Z5, along with the Xperia Z5 Ultra and the Xperia Z5 Compact smartphones," it said. However, it added that its release might still be delayed to January next year should the Snapdragon 820 chipset be unavailable.
Anyway, here are some the concept photos of the rumored slim phablet Sony Xperia Z5 courtesy of Xperia Z5 Sony: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Aside from these photos, Concept Images also provided some feature video for the alleged device. Watch it below:
Xperia Z5 Sony also provided an alleged spec sheet for the upcoming Z5 device. Here is it:
RAM : 4 GB
Display : 5.5 inch screen and 4K Resolution (4K ultra HD display)
Processor : 3.2 GHz Octa Core 64bit Qualcomm
Primary Camera : 30 MP with G+ sensors
Front cameras : 10 MP with Face-Detection
Internal Storage Capacity : 128 GB
Battery : 4500 mAh battery with fast charging

According to Android Origin's report, the Sony Xperia Z5 and Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra will use the QHD screen in all areas. Both will have 4GB of RAM each. The two devices are also said to get new cameras plus a new design, though did not detail about it. It however reported that the Z5 won't be having the fingerprint sensor feature, contradicting Xperia Z5 Sony's prediction. The Xperia Z5 Ultra phablet is speculated to be the first Sony device to feature a fingerprint scanner through the Ultrasonic Sense ID from Qualcomm, Android Origin said.
"One of the major highlights of the Xperia Z5 Ultra, according to our source, will be the Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology that Qualcomm announced recently. This will make the Xperia Z5 Ultra the first Sony Xperia smartphone to feature a fingerprint sensor. The Xperia Z5 will unfortunately not be equipped with a fingerprint sensor, or at least that isn't the plan for now," to quote Android Origin.
Noting of previous Sony Xperia Z series' release dates, Xperia Z5 Sony said that it is likely that the new Xperia Z5 device would come out this September. It also estimated that the device would likely be priced at "around $1,000." Sony has yet to confirm all these rumors.
