Sports fans, once in a while, get into trouble for being too loyal to their favorite superstars.
Yahoo Sports reported that a man from Pennsylvania allegedly assaulted his roommate over a debate about whether LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers is better than NBA legend Michael Jordan.
Daniel Mondelice, 22 years old, was arrested early on April 18, 2015. It was not certain which player Mondelice was rooting for but according to CentreDaily.com, he was arraigned twice because of a string of unfortunate events.
Here's what happened.
According to the Daily Colegian, around 3:49 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, Mondelice and his roommate started arguing at their apartment at Calder Commons, 520 E. Calder Way. The State College Police Department stated that Mondelice physically assaulted his roommate and was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and simple assault for the first altercation. He was released on bond and ordered by the police not to return to his apartment after being arraigned. He was then allowed to collect his things at the apartment with a police escort.
Mondelice then stayed in another apartment at University Gateway 616 E. College Avenue, but the women who live there only allowed him to stay for a short period of time. However, he reportedly overstayed and refused to leave when requested. Mondelice became aggressive and verbally insulted the dwellers, so the women decided to contact the police at 6:33 p.m. on the same day.
Mondelice is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, April 22, for both charges, CentreDaily.com added.
Who is the greatest NBA player?
Throughout the years, NBA's greatest athletes have been pitted against each other by fans.
Based on the same report by Yahoo Sports, even LeBron James and Michael Jordan themselves acknowledge their NBA greatness. LeBron told Sports Illustrated in 2013, "I want to be the greatest of all time. It's that simple, I'm far away from it, but I see the light." Jordan, on the other hand, would opt for Kobe Bryant over James, but he reportedly stated that there will never be another Michael Jordan.
Jordan has six NBA titles, six Finals MVP awards and five regular-season NBA MVP awards while LeBron has two NBA titles, two Finals MPV awards and four regular-season NBA MVP awards, according to Yahoo Sports. Jordan is No. 1 in NBA history in terms of career scoring average, MVP award shares, player efficiency rating, win shares per 48 minutes, usage rate and value over replacement player. On the other hand, LeBron is currently the most dominant player in the league and is set to break a few of Jordan's records. Since both players will never face each other in an actual basketball court, NBA fans are left to their imaginations to take their pick.
