Microsoft has just recently introduced its new Surface 3 yet rumors about the next Surface Pro laplet have continued to bombard the web. According to the latest report from BGR, the next Surface Pro 4 laplet is expected to be, to quote its title, "a huge update."
Although Microsoft has not yet released any comment regarding these rumors, BGR claims that the next laplet would be "worth the wait" as it would boast of "high-end specs." It talked particularly of the new device's size, its processor, and memory. Citing speculations, BGR listed that the new laplet would be available in two size options -- either a 12-inch one or a 14-inch one with 2K resolution displays. It said that it is also likely that potential buyers would have the chance to choose from either a laplet with an Intel Core i5 processor or one with a Core i7 processor. It also raised the possibility of the device getting a 16GB of RAM and a stylus. However, these specs remained unconfirmed as of the moment.
Inquisitr meanwhile reported that it is likely that the next Microsoft Surface Pro laplet would come out this October to coincide with the release of the new Windows 10. In that report, we also see industry analyst Paul Mueller agreeing to the October release speculation.
"The Surface Pro 3 is selling just as well as it did when it first came out. Even though people expected a June or July release for the Pro 4, it probably won't happen until Windows 10 is released. That way, Microsoft could capitalize on both Windows 10 and the new Surface Pro at the same time," Mueller reportedly told Inquisitr.
Inquisitr also noted that an October release date is likely as it will be coinciding with Apple's alleged release of its rumored larger tablet called iPad Pro.
Motley Fool was the first to report about the rumored Surface Pro 4 laplet. It said that the new device would just be an "enhanced version" of its predecessor Surface Pro 3 as its processors would be the only thing to be upgraded. It said that the new laplet would get the newer Broadwell processors, an upgrade from the Haswell chips the current Surface Pro 3 has.
But in a separate report, Motley Fool said it might also be possible that the next Microsoft Surface Pro 4 would be LTE-capable. The news outlet also has failed in its prediction that the new laplet would come out in February as we haven't seen it yet to date.
Meanwhile, an image leaked by an "Anonymous" 4chan user earlier said that the new laplet would come out this July but the legitimacy of the post has not yet been confirmed as of present.
