Will Microsoft still release the rumored Surface Pro 4 despite the recent Surface 3 reveal?
It is still unknown whether Microsoft would still release the rumored Surface Pro 4 as the tech giant remains mum regarding the matter. But in a report from Tech Crunch, it has provided a screenshot showing what Microsoft has to say about the said device.
A user named Michael EPS5 directed a question to the Microsoft Surface Team which goes, "What can you tell us about the Surface Pro 4 other than that it will not be released until Windows 10 drops?"
Microsoft Surface Team's answer was short, direct, and simple. "Nothing." Check out the screenshot here.
According to Tech Crunch, "the second most upvoted question" was "Any Chance we will see an external GPU for the Surface Pro line anytime soon?" However, Microsoft has not responded to that question yet.
Christian Today reported that there are speculations that the upcoming Surface Pro 4 would come out in July. And not only that, it revealed that it is likely that it would come out in two variants.
"There is also word that the device will come in two different sizes although the alleged 12-inch and 14-inch variants will bear the same 2K display. The latter will be the high-grade hybrid with powerful Intel i5 and i7 as processors and up to 1TB of storage," Christian Today said.
In line with this, we have released an earlier report that point to a July release date, as well. In that report, we cited an image leaked by an "Anonymous" 4chan user. In his/her post, s/he said, "Hold on to your f*cking hats because Microsoft is looking into putting out the Surface Pro 4 on July 2015. My sources say that Microsoft will reveal it on GDC (Game Developers Conference) and they will use that and a gaming PC plus an Xbox to show how powerful Windows 10 and DX12 is."
Motley Fool has failed in its prediction that the new laplet would come out as early as February, seeing that we have not seen a new laplet to date. However, aside from the release date, it also speculated that the new device would just be an "enhanced version" of its predecessor, with its processors only getting an upgrade. It is said that the new laplet would get the newer Broadwell processors, an upgrade from the Haswell chips the current Surface Pro 3 has. The device is also rumored to come out with an LTE-capability.
