It seems the list of actors in the running for the role of Christian Grey continues to grow daily. Fans of 'Supernatural' actor Jared Padalecki seem to have jumped on board the '50 Shades of Grey' film casting train, Books and Review reported.

According to Books and Review, fans of the 30-year-old actor have even gone as far as setting up a Facebook page entitled "Jared Padalecki to play Mr. Christian Grey?" With only 33 likes, it is hard to gauge how big his fan base wants him to take up the coveted lead role in the film adaptation of E.L. James' bestselling novel series.

The former 'Gilmore Girls' actor will have to get in line with a slew of other more popular fan picks in the running for Christian Grey. Leading among fan favorites are 'White Collar' actor Matt Bomer and 'The Vampire Diaries' actor Ian Somerhalder. Bomer and Somerhalder are joined by fellow actors Henry Cavill, Ryan Gosling, Alexander Skarsgard and others.

In an ongoing poll by Latinos Post, Bomer remained in the lead with 45 percent of the votes. However, Somerhalder, who dominated previous polls, followed closely behind with 34 percent of the votes.

Rumors surrounding who will play the innocent yet sexy lead female character of Anastasia Steele have also dominated talk of the film. Actresses Alexis Bledel, Nina Dobrev, Mila Kunis and Emma Watson are all part of a long list of actresses chosen by fans to play the role of Anastasia. Other actresses mentioned include: Jennifer Lawrence, Lucy Hale, Emilia Clarke, Elizabeth Olsen, Amanda Seyfried and Shailene Woodley.

The ongoing poll by Latinos Post found that former 'Gilmore Girls' actress Alexis Bledel is the overwhelming favorite to play the doe-eyed lead in the erotic thriller with 46 percent of the votes. Mila Kunis and Nina Dobrev follow not-so-closely behind with 11.7 percent and 10 percent of the votes respectively.

No casting decisions have been made for any of the roles and it may be some time before any are made at all. The film, which is currently in its pre-production phase, recently hired screenwriter Kelly Marcel ('Terra Nova') to write the film's script. The only other confirmed positions on the Universal Pictures and Focus Films movie are producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti.

A release date for the first film in the series, '50 Shades of Grey,' has yet to be announced.
