While an official announcement by the Beyoncé camp has yet to make an official announcement, the singer will perform at next year's halftime of Super Bowl XLVII.

The singer's publicity team loaded a photo to Tumblr and Facebook of Beyoncé with the words "Feb 3 2013" written on her cheeks in eye black strips.

Beyoncé recently pulled out of Clint Eastwood's "A Star is Born." Some speculate this is to prepare for her performance, which is usually by hundreds of millions of people worldwide.

If this is true, Beyoncé will follow pop icon Madonna's show at this year's event.

Beyoncé, a self-described perfectionist, is known to give it her all in anything she does--especially while performing.

Here is a list of some of the most memorable Super Bowl halftime performances to date:

Michael Jackson:

Michael Jackson started the trend of big-name celebrities performing during halftime in 1993. Before him, it was mostly college bands.

Opened by the voice of James Earl Jones, two Michael Jackson look-alikes appeared onstage before the real Jackson appeared to a roaring audience. He stood there, still, for over a minute while the audience went crazy. He opened with "Jam," then "Billie Jean" before performing is then-newly released "Black or White."

Diana Ross:

Diana Ross is the diva supreme, and so was her Super Bowl performance in 1996. Ross had more costume changes than any other performer. The highlight of her performance was her grand helicopter exit.

Rolling Stones:

Legendary group the Rolling Stones' iconic tongue image flashed across the screen before the group took the stage. The 1996 performance opened with "Start Me Up," "Rough Justice" and ended with mega-hit "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction."

Madonna:

Always thinking ahead, Madonna used her stint at this year's halftime show as a way to promote her latest album "MDNA." She debuted her song "Give Me All Your Luvin'" just a few days before. Madonna's Polytheism themed was apparent all through the show. She opened being carried in by Greek soldiers.

Black Eyed Peas, Usher, and Slash:

Although the Black Eyed Peas (BEP) had some vocal problems, the visual aspect of the show was amazing. The Tron: Legacy theme set the tone for the band's futuristic costumes and colors. BEP started with "I Got a Feeling." Slash came out to duet with Fergie for "Sweet Child O'Mine." Usher later joined them on stage for "OMG."

Super Bowl XLVII, featuring Beyoncé 's halftime performance, will be on Feb. 3, 2013 on CBS.
