A new downloadable content (DLC) will be available for "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" later in March 2015.

IGN.com reported that Activision made the official announcement that the new "Ascendance" DLC will be available on March 31 for "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare." The pack is quite similar to the "Havoc" DLC, which was previously launched in January 2015 and featured four new multiplayer maps, a new chapter for Exo Zombies, and a new weapon. Those who purchase "Ascendance" DLC will also gain a new Exo Grapple ability.

The new Exo Zombies chapter presents the return of the cast, namely, John Malkovich, Rose McGowan, Bill Paxton and Jon Bernthal. There will be new and old undead as well as traps. Particularly, Burgertown will make a return in the chapter. Some of the new enemies to encounter in the DLC include the Acid Dripper and Goliath. There is also a Civilian Extraction Mode available.

The four new multiplayer maps will be called Perplex, Site 244, Climate, and Chop Shop. CallofDuty.com reported that Perplex is a five-storey modular apartment complex in Sydney. Site 24 is an alien spacecraft that crash-landed, with its secret cargo thrown all over the foot of Mount Rushmore. Climate is a futuristic climate-controlled biodome, while Chop Shop is a black market exoskeleton industrial complex.

GameSpot reported that the new Exo Grapple provides gamers with a quicker way to reach strategic vantage spots. It also serves as a secondary weapon to takedown opponents on "Ascendance" maps. The new weapon is the OHM directed energy hybrid between a light machine gun and shotgun that also comes in a custom werewolf type. Players can attack enemies from a distance using the LMG mode or concentrate their shots to become more powerful at short range using the shotgun mode. The OHM Werewolf custom variant allows players to increase their mobility in exchange for accuracy.

No gameplay footage for "Ascendance" has been introduced by Activision yet but screenshots were already shown in the same report by GameSpot. The world premier for the gameplay will happen on March 29 at the 2015 Call of Duty Championships. The "Ascendance" DLC will be priced at $15 for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. For now, the DLC is only available on the Xbox gaming platform but will expectedly be released as well for other consoles soon.

Two more expansions will be available for "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" in the coming months, namely, "Supremacy" and "Reckoning".
