The upcoming LG G4 is expected to be bigger and more powerful than expected. Techradar said there are recent rumors saying that the next LG flagship would have a a 5.6-inch screen. It said that this size puts it into the phablet category.

The news outlet cited in its report a tweet from On Leaks, saying, "Looks like the #LG G4 has a... 5.6' screen... #LGG4."

Phone Arena noted this would mean that the new device would be 1 inch slimmer than the screen of the LG G3. However, it said that it sees the resolution to remain at 1440 x 2560.

According to the report, the new device could be out by May, citing the release date of the current LG G3. The said device was unveiled in May 27 last year.

"The LG G4 will feature a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 under the hood. We could see a 16MP-20MP rear camera on the handset with OIS still included. Most likely LG will stick with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage," the news outlet added.

Aside from the LG G4, we previously reported that there are rumors of a bigger version coming, the LG G4 Note. GSM Arena said it is likely that the Korean firm would conduct separate release dates for the two devices. It said the G4 might come out in the first half of the year and the G4 Note in the second half.

It can be recalled that Phone Arena reported about a new LG device which might be the LG G4 Note. It is a 5.8-inch device with the codename LS770.

"In the papers, the LG LS770 is described as a phablet device with a 147-millimeter screen, which roughly equals 5.8 inches. The entire handset is 79.3 mm wide by 154.1 mm tall (about 3.12 by 6.07 inches), meaning that it is slightly larger than the LG G3. That's without the smart cover, we assume - yes, the LG LS770 will have a smart cover made for it, as it is hinted in the documents. Interestingly, a stylus of some kind is also being mentioned," Phone Arena said in the report. You can view the alleged new LG phablet here.

LG mobile division chief Cho Juno was earlier cited by Korea Times as saying that the new device would be "radically different" from its predecessor. Here is a part of Juno's statement:

"I believe our G4 will also be good. With higher expectations, LG put huge resources into the LG G4...We are aiming to become the world's third-largest smartphone manufacturer this year in terms of annual sales. LG Electronics will be aggressive in promoting the G4 in major target markets such as Korea and the United States."
