Rey Mysterio talked at Wrestling Observer Live on March 11 to share his future plans and current health condition. He also talked about his reasons for leaving WWE.

WrestlingInc reported that Mysterio shared about his health and how his recent matches and training were not as difficult and challenging compared to his first years in the business. He said that the most taxing years were the initial ones.

According to him, they were working out five days every week. He added that he does not expect to go on a full schedule. Despite his knee injury, he said that he can still wrestle for years just like Kevin Nash did.

Mysterio said, "After my last surgery in 2011, I came back at the end of 2012. I felt like I rushed myself. I went back on the shelf, came back and they put me with Sin Cara, and I felt like I wasn't going anywhere.

"I was being thrown into just having tag matches, there was no direction for Rey Mysterio. My contract was coming to the end and I decided to not re-sign. I wanted to take time off to spend time with my family and go from there."

WrestleZone notes that Mysterio also talked about Lucha Underground.

He said, "If I take the next step and go to Lucha Underground, I want to take Lucha Libre global. My goal is to always make it bigger."

Mysterio revealed that he will appear at WaleMania on March 26, which will be his first appearance since leaving WWE.

In another WrestlingInc report, Alberto El Patron shared some details about Lucha Underground.

According to Alberto, Lucha Underground is different from basic Mexican lucha libre. It features a combination of all the great styles to entertain fans. He said that the product is excellent and people are responding positively to their shows.

Alberto also said about the potential of Rey Mysterio joining the fold, "It would be fantastic! I don't know if he is going to join or not because he already joined AAA in Mexico. We know that AAA and Lucha Underground are partners. That pretty much tells me we will see Rey Mysterio at some point in the future and it will be fantastic. We already have a great product and having Rey Mysterio joining the company would make it 1,000 times better.

"We already have the Latinos watching Lucha Underground. Now we will have superstars like Rey Mysterio and Alberto Patron that will make the American fans turnaround and watch the program because they know us from other companies."
