Only days after its official unveiling, the new HTC One M9 is now available for pre-order in the official HTC store in Germany. GSM Arena reported citing the official German HTC website that the gold on gold version of the new flagship phone is already available there for pre-order at €749.99. Meanwhile, the gunmetal gray and the gold on silver versions will be available for pre-order starting March 31.

US and UK release dates

Meanwhile, the new HTC device will also be available for pre-order in United Kingdom starting March 9, a separate report from GSM Arena revealed. This will be through EE and the offer is only limited to the gold on gold version. Carphone Warehouse said it will begin selling the device next month while O2 has not yet provided details but it said that price cuts await buyers who hand in their old HTC One M8 devices. Meanwhile, no specific release dates have been announced by US carriers though Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T have already said they will be offering the device. Both Sprint and T-Mobile also said they will launch it in "Spring."

Specs and Features

The new HTC One M9 is a device with a 5 inch full HD display. Its dimensions are at 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.61 mm. It weighs 157 grams.

GSM Arena noted that while many say that the new device looks a lot like its predecessor, the HTC One (M8), it believes this new handset is "more minimalistic," "lighter," and "smaller." It has a design "with less part count, dual anodization, and scratch-resistant coating and sapphire glass on the camera lens." It is available on new colors -- silver version with a rose gold accent on the frame, gun metal gray, gold version, and a pink one with gold accent on the frame. Note that the device is not dust and water resistant.

As rumored earlier, the new device comes with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. It also has the classic BoomSound speakers with Dolby audio. It has an internal storage of 32 GB and a RAM of 3 GB. It also has a microSD card slot that can take up upto 128 GB. As promised, it has a 20 megapixel main camera with sapphire cover lens, auto-focus, BSI sensor, f/2.2, 27.8mm lens, and 4K video recording. The front camera is an UltraPixel one with BSI sensor f/2.0, 26.8mm lens, and could allow 1080p video recording.

The device is also powered by the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Plus, it also has the new HTC Sense 7 as user interface. It also has a 2840 mAh battery which could last for up to more than 20 hours.
