Love may not last forever, but tattoos do.
Singer and actress Miley Cyrus has several tattoos, including part of a quote by big-game hunter, former President and all-around tough guy Theodore Roosevelt. You know, the guy teddy bears are named after.
And now, apparently, her fiancé Liam Hemsworth has the rest of the quote on his arm to match.
Her portion of the quote says, "so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat," while his contains the line preceding hers in the full quote: "if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly."
The quote comes from a speech entitled "Citizenship in a Republic," which Roosevelt gave at the Sorbonne in Paris, in 1910.
The particular section of the speech is well-loved, notably by human rights activist Nelson Mandela and former United States President Richard Nixon, who used it in both his 1968 victory speech and his 1974 resignation address.
Cyrus and Hemsworth were engaged June 6 of this year. Rumors of the couple's breakup would appear to be false, at least for now. A series of cryptic tweets on Twitter seemed to be directed at Hemsworth, but both celebrities denied it.
Cyrus took a week's hiatus from Twitter, anyway, though, but she's back now.
Cyrus has another tattoo of two equal line on her finger, which she says represents her support of same-sex marriage.
She also has "LOVE" tattooed on her right ear, a heart of her pinky, "Love never dies" on her left arm, "BAD" on her middle finger, "VIIXCI" on her elbow, "Just Breathe" under one of her breasts and a large dreamcatcher on her ribcage.
