Rumors are circulating online that Bandai Namco Games would be releasing the "Tekken X Street Fighter" game next year. The news comes from Master Herald which noted that the game development is still ongoing.

The news outlet said "Tekken X Street Fighter" is the tenth installment of the video game. Meanwhile, the game's ninth installment, "Tekken 7," would officially be released this "mid-March," as announced by director Katsuhiro Harada.

Kpopstarz reported that the rumored "Tekken X Street Fighter" game has already been confirmed by Harada. The director, according to the news site, even revealed that the game's release date might be moved a "little earlier."

"It's very difficult to talk about...Obviously, I had originally planned to release it much earlier than we're currently looking at," Harada was quoted as saying in the report. He added, "People have been talking about the game for such a long time that they aren't going to be surprised if you just release it normally...I don't know if that's what we have planned, but we do plan to have some kind of surprise."

Aside from this, the director also hinted that he would love to continue making games. In a Cross Map report, he was cited saying that he would love to develop a new game which is not within the "Tekken" franchise. More specifically, a game that would involve gathering popular gaming characters from the '80s, '90s, and 2000.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Polygon, the director revealed that he is indeed working on "a few games." It was later revealed that one of those games is the "Project Treasure."

"Now that we're at the 20th anniversary of Tekken and I've been at the company roughly that number of years - and also, I don't think I've said this publicly before, but I recently had a child - that's kind of changed my perspective on things...I realize that there's not as much time left as you think when you're young, so I'm starting to think that I only have maybe another 20 years working here. And in that time, how many more games do I have left in me to make?" Polygon further quoted Harada as saying.

"Tekken X Street Fighter" is expected to be available on PS4 and Xbox One. "Tekken 7" on the other hand will first be available on arcades then to PS4 and Xbox One. Watch "Tekken 7's" opening video featuring main characters Kazuya Mishima and Heihachi Mishima fighting on top of a fiery volcano here:
