In an interview with the site INHED at a Czech Republic press event, Microsoft product manager Peter Bobek revealed that Office apps are making their way to both Android and iOS in March 2013.
Reinforcing the story, The Verge got its hands on a press release from the Czech Republic division of Microsoft, stating: "In addition to Windows, Office will also be avialable on other operating systems, Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian. Office 365 services and other Office products for mobile (phones and tablets) will be released from March 2013."
"We have said previously Office mobile will work across Windows Phones, Android Phones and iOS," said a Microsoft spokesperson when The Verge inquired about Office's mobile availability.
The Redmond-based company had a similar response when CNET reached out to them for comments: "Office Mobile will work across Windows Phones, Android phones and iOS, and we have nothing additional to announce today about retail availability of the new office."
Microsoft Office 2013 does not have an official release date in the U.S., but the preview version of the suite can be downloaded on Microsoft's official website now.
Under the new subscription model, Office 365 Home Premium will cost $99.99/year, and Office 365 Small Business Premium will cost $149.99/year. If Office users opt for the traditional licensed offering, Office Home & Student 2013 will be priced at $139.99, Office Home & Business 2013 at $219.99, and Office Professional 2013 at $399.99. Office Small Business Premium offers its suite for $12.50/month and can be used by up to 25 employees.
