Barcelona's interest in Brazilian Superstar Neymar is obvious. The Brazilian almost completed a deal to move to Barcelona last year, but claimed that he was not prepared to move to a big club.
But that has only increased teams in the bidding for the blossoming superstar. Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have made it clear that they will look to buy the player in the coming year.
PSG is currently rebuilding itself on the French soccer landscape. So far the talents of Javier Pastore, Thiago Silva, and most importantly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic have helped the team race out to second place in the French League. The team has yet to suffer defeat in its first eight matches and Ibrahimovic has nine goals in that span.
Neymar has openly stated that playing with the Swedish superstar would incredible. "Ibrahimovic is one of the best players in the world today and I dream to play with major players," Neymar said.
However, Chelsea is also among the squads that Neyamr would not mind moving to. Brazilian stars Oscar and Ramires (who play on the national team with Neymar) have already put in a good word for the Santos star and joining his compatriots could be enough to bring him to London. Additionally, Oscar, Juan Mata, and Eden Hazard are already creating a dynamic trio of players for Chelsea that only needs a dynamic striker up top to help finish their chances. Rumors surrounding Chelsea's interest in Falcao have been well documented, but Neymar has more upside.
Neymar has stated that there are only "five clubs" that he would want to join. Those clubs are Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, and PSG. On Real Madrid he could get a chance with Cristiano Ronaldo, especially with Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain looking rather inconsistent. Performing alongside Ronaldo would probably suit Neymar better than playing with Ibrahimovic though one would have to question the egos that could potentially clash.
Manchester United is a bit more crowded with Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney playing up top, but Sir Alex Ferguson would undoubtedly make room for the Brazilian.
On Barcelona he would get to play with a tremendous arsenal of midfielders and up and coming stars. Most importanlty however is that he would likely create the most dynamic 1-2 punch alongisde Lionel Messi who is currently one of the best players in the world.
The clock seems to be clicking for the 21 year old however as former Brazilian star Rivaldo openly stated that he must head to Europe as soon as possible if Brazil hopes "to stand a chance" at winning the World Cup on home soil in 2014.
"You need experience at the World Cup and the best way to gain experience is to play against the best, which is the case in Europe," said Rivaldo. "These players have to make the move to Europe as soon as possible."
The next major transfer window is in January and it could very well be the time when Neymar dons a new soccer sweater.
