Amidst news of the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini, the rumors 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display was lost.
News of the new 13-inch version is back with word the MacBook is still on track for a fourth quarter release.
DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim gave an update to CNET that the 13-inch version is still planned.
According to Shim, the 13-inch version will have a resolution of 2,560x1,600, slightly down from the 15-inch version which has a resolution of 2,800x1,800, and could see a cheaper price tag compared to the $2,199 for the current 15-inch version.
It was originally speculated the 13-inch version would have a soft-launch either before or after the launch of the iPhone 5, so more focus can be put towards the new smartphone.
Those plans didn't come to fruition.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display could debut during the reported Oct. 10 event where the iPad Mini is planned to make its debut.
Apple last week issued a warning to owners of the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display in regards to wrist or rest covers.
According to Apple the wrist and rest covers on the surface of the MacBook could damage the display when the MacBook is closed.
Apple's stated, "To enable thin design, the clearance between the display and the palm rest area is engineered to tight tolerances. Do not use palm rest covers as the added thickness may interfere with the designed resting position of the display."
