Rockstar Games has spilled the beans about its next "Grand Theft Auto" game franchise. According to Metro, Rockstar Games president Leslie Benzies himself revealed in a recent interview that they already have plans for the upcoming "GTA VI."
Here is what Benzies said: "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA VI will be, but we've got some ideas...It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami."
"The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in," Benzies added.
However, Benzies earlier said that they are currently focusing on the "GTA Online," as reported by Kpopstarz. "GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain't no rest between finishing 'V' and then Online. Plus we have some other things -- stuff, DLC," he was quoted as saying.
The "Grand Theft Auto VI" is expected to be released in 2017. Master Herald says that the timeline is quite realistic, considering the pace of how Rockstar develops game series. But Benzies' statement, Kpopstarz said, could mean that the release of the new game might be pushed back to 2018. Nothing's for sure right now as Rockstar has not yet issued another statement or comment regarding the matter.
As for the setting for the next GTA game, Venture Capital Post reported that there have been rumors that it will either be in Paris, London, Brazil or Las Vegas. While others say that it will be a fictional city inspired by New York or Miami. Movoto, meanwhile, suggested that the new game should be set in Portland, Oregon.
"To be fair, Portland wasn't our first choice either. We looked at several cities, trying to see which one would be a great place to steal cars and run over hookers in. It's hard to argue with numbers, and the numbers show that not only is Portland a great choice for the next GTA, but also that Portland probably would have actually been a better choice than that lame-sauce city Los Whateveros," Movoto said.
Motovo claims that Portland has at least nine gun stores, over 80 different strip clubs, many shops, and six police stations. What do you think of these rumors? Do you have anything else to suggest? Share it with us through the comments section.
