It looks like that LG's new flagship device will again ditch this year's Mobile World Congress in March just like it did with the recent Consumer Electronics Show in January. This came after Master Herald reported that the new LG device called LG G4 would probably show up this May.

The report said that LG decided to back out from the March event since it does not want to be upstaged by other flagship devices from other smartphone companies. Note that Samsung is also expected to unveil its Galaxy S6 along with its edge version, Galaxy S Edge during the said event.

Aside from this, Master Herald said that a May release date for the device is likely considering the launching patterns LG had in the past. Its current flagship device, the LG G3 was launched in May 2014. But this remains unsure since LG G3's predecessor, the G2, did not have a May release date as it got a September 2013 launch. However, could this mean that LG is setting up its own event for the LG G4 launch? Very likely, says the tech experts the report cited.

LG Corporate Communications Director Ken Hong earlier told Trusted Reviews that the electronics giant will try to incorporate changes in its next generation of smartphones.

"I think we will [experiment with our high-end phones]. I think we have to...If you look at the specs only, there are other competitors with similar-spec phones. How do you stand out in that pile if you're not doing something different?" Hong was quoted in the report as saying. "I don't think we are going to be able to sit back and expect people are just going to fawn over the G4, or whatever the name will be, just because they liked the G3...I don't think it works that way any more. I don't think people are as loyal on the Android side as they are on the iOS side, so you really have to win every customer with your products," he added.

Though Hong did not provide details about LG's new device, many speculations about the G4 have circulated online. For instance, a leaked spec sheet for a new LG device was spotted at Geekbench. According to the data it provided, the new LG device has model number LG-F510L. However, we still could not confirm whether this is indeed the new G4. But according to the spec sheet, it will have the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 as processor and the new Android update, Android 5.0.1 Lollipop as its OS.

As for other details and specs, Christian Today says the new LG flagship device will be a 5.7 inches phone with HD display resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels that will boast of its 16-megapixel rear-facing shooter and a 5.1-megapixel front camera. Contrary to those predictions, GSM Dome says it will probably be a 5.3 incher phone with a stylus pen, 4 GB of RAM, and 20.7 megapixel camera. To date, it is not clear what the new device would look like and what specs it will have as LG has not yet issued an official statement about it.
