On Thursday, Samsung posted a brief update concerning the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean's launch on the Galaxy S3.

Although the South Korean company has not set a concrete release date for the operating system, their webpage promises that it is "Coming Soon!" to U.S. Cellular, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and Sprint subscribers.

Leaked versions of Jelly bean have already made their way to Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T phones, according to Android Community. The site explains that "For those outside of the US the wait wasn't so bad with them stating in late August it was coming soon, then it arrived in September for many in Europe." If Samsung's international timetable is followed, U.S. owners should expect a November launch for Jelly Bean on the S3.

In the U.S., Jelly Bean is currently available on the galaxy Nexus for Sprint and Verizon users, and the Nexus S 4G for Sprint subscribers only.

Jelly Bean features a faster performance, snappier responses when switching between apps, and Google Now, a voice assistant that mimics Siri.

The OS has been positively received by most critics. CNET writes, "Android 4.1 Jelly Bean thankfully comes with a raft of meaningful additions that go far beyond the simple bug fix and performance tweak. There are plenty of those, too, but the real benefits are easy to see, and make a difference when using a phone. The new voice search experience and Google Now deliver a one-two punch that will, at the very least, make Android users feel much more engaged with search, especially since the new pull-up gesture gives you voice search access anywhere.'
