Rumors are spreading that a super slim PlayStation 4 console is coming anytime soon.
According to Game Rant, the current PS4 console is expected to get slimmer, considering the developments of the Sony console in the past. It noted that there is no other way for it to be developed than to give it a redesigned version. Though it is not sure when exactly it will come in, there have been rumors on the web that these speculations are indeed true.
In the report, it cited website VG247.it which claimed that a slimmer version of the PS4 is really being thought of. VG247 even provided some photos to support its claims. For the photos, click here and here.
Game Rant, citing VG247.it, said that this particular project is known as "Monolith." Although VG247 provided photos to back its claims, Game Rant remains skeptical about this information. It noted that the evidence were just some off-screen photos with too many "confidential" words in it.
Although Game Rant admitted that it is not sure whether the leak is indeed legit, it noted that it is not impossible for a redesigned version of the PS4 to show up. However, the website noted that it's a "little soon" for the PS4 to be redesigned, considering that it's only been a few years after its release. It also stressed that the current PS4 console does not yet need to be redesigned; rather it is Microsoft's Xbox One which indeed needs a revamp.
Sony has not yet issued any confirmation or comment regarding this rumor.
Meanwhile, What Culture's Rob Thubron takes it to the next level laying down some predictions for the next PlayStation 5 consoles. He said that future consoles would not only feature graphical improvements. The PS5 consoles, he said, are expected to get designs we've never seen before and we've never imagined before.
The PS5 is predicted to be wireless, portable, and battery-enabled, says What Culture. The report also said that it would not be surprising if PS5 consoles in the future would be hand-carry and have the size of the current phablets we have. With this, people no longer have to be at home to play their consoles.
Aside from this, future consoles are also expected to have a gestural interface and have virtual reality headsets. Also, the future PS5 console, What Culture said, would no longer require gamers to purchase physical copies as games in the future are expected to be available through download.
Note that these are all rumors and predictions and we still don't know yet what Sony's plans are for its next-gen game consoles. Stay tuned and be updated with these latest reports and rumors by checking out our website.
