There are few games shrouded in so much secrecy and hype. Sure, Half-Life 3 is a big deal, but nobody even knows if the game even exists. But Grand Theft Auto 5 is another deal. Everybody's seen screenshots, and is anxiously awaiting the next installment in the popular open-world, sandbox game.

Rockstar has played this card close to heart, revealing next to nothing about the game. It should be hitting the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime in the next year, but what if it hit the Wii U?

The website ProductReviews points out that high-profile games, such as Black Ops 2 have come to the Wii U - despite skepticism. Not only that, thanks to the touchscreen controller that is a part of Wii U, games can have enhanced functionality.

"Rockstar may take the same view and announce GTA 5 for the Wii U, with exclusive minigames that are playable using the touchscreen controller. Imagine playing on the TV and then triggering a rampage mission that can only be completed using the Wii U GamePad - it could end up being Nintendo's secret weapon and the sole reason why Rockstar are stalling so long with announcing platforms," writes Alan Ng from Product Reviews

Sounds great, doesn't it?

It would be the first time that the Grand Theft Auto series has hit a Nintendo home console. It's hard to imagine a Nintendo console with the Grand Theft Auto game on it, but it would be great for both companies - Nintendo has long been chided for providing childish content, and Rockstar can make an extra buck.

Rockstar has not released any details about the game since showing off a trailer last November, and recently unleashing a small flurry of screenshots. Much is left to speculation and the imagination.

We do know that Grand Theft Auto 5 will take place in the fictional city of Los Santos, a city based on Los Angeles and can be found in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. From screenshots, it's safe to say that planes will be making a return (like San Andreas). Rockstar has also mentioned that multiplayer will be a big part of the game unlike most Grand Theft Autos, which have focused largely on single player.

Grand Theft Auto 5 has no confirmed release date, although it's safe to say that it will hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime in 2013. If ProductReviews is right, and it hits the Wii U too, this game could be bigger than, well, even Rockstar could have imagined.

Of course this is nothing but speculation, and has no confirmation from Rockstar and Nintendo. But would you be interested in Grand Theft Auto 5 hitting the Wii U?
