A new version of Mozilla Firefox features support for Apple's Retina display MacBook Pro.

Known Firefox 18, the update is currently in the Firefox Nightly channel and will be available through its Aurora channel on Oct. 8.

Tech Crunch reported a "stable version" is expected to be release in the second week of January 2013.

According to Firefox Nightly, the builds are for "testing purposes only," so there is the chance of certain features not properly functioning.

The update is available for Linux (Intel, 64-bit), Windows, and Mac desktop owners and the Android mobile devices.

Browser Fame noted the Retina support will also appear on Mozilla Thunderbird.

The version follows as Microsoft released an update for their Office 2011, following complaints of programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint looking "fuzzy."
