The rumored HTC One M9 is reportedly arriving in two versions.
According to Christian Today, it has been alleged that the soon to be released HTC flagship device might come in two variants. The first type is one that has the new Snapdragon 810 SoC from Qualcomm while the other has a MediaTek processor. The report says that the latter will come cheaper than the former.
Load the Game citing an unidentified Taiwanese press reported that the electronics giant is trying out the device with the "MediaTek MT6795 octa-core CPU, a 64 bit architecture CPU with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz and LTE modem." The report however noted that these rumors have not yet been confirmed so it is better not to take them seriously.
The rumored new HTC flagship device did not show up during the Consumer Electronics Show this year so it is likely that the device would launch during the Mobile World Congress in March, the report said.
However, Phone Arena earlier speculated that the device might not be released in these two big events. It noted that the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer already ditched the MWC last year so it would be likely that it might do the same this year. It however said that it believes that the device will be unveiled in March, but not during the MWC, the same way they did with the HTC One M8. The company showcased it at a separate event in New York and London.
As for the specs, Phone Arena said the device is expected to have a 5-inch 1080 x 1920 resolution display, 3GB of RAM, and a 2840 mAh battery. It also noted that the device might come in three different colors -- gray, silver, and gold. The main camera is also likely to get upgraded to 20.7-megapixel. Christian Today also said that the front camera would be upgraded to a 13-megapixel one. Aside from that, the handset will also probably get the new Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update as OS with HTC Sense 7 UI.
The rumored new HTC device is also known as "Hima." The one who leaked the details about the alleged new device was Upleaks, who posted several tweets end-2014 to give details about the said handset. Its Twitter account however can no longer be found, so is its website. Here's our earlier report citing the Upleaks as main source.
Meanwhile, the International Business Times suggests that the new HTC phone will likely measure just like the iPhone 6 when it comes to its thickness. The new device will allegedly measure 7.1mm.
