It's official! Liam McIntyre has joined CW's TV series "The Flash."
The Comic Book on Wednesday, January 7, confirmed that the "Spartacus" actor has already been added to the series' cast list as villain Mark Mardon, the Weather Wizard.
While it is still unknown how the Weather Wizard will become a threat to the Central City, his appearance in the show is quite relevant and dates back to the series' premiere episode, Screen Rant said. Note that in the season's first episode, we saw the "Mardon Brothers," known for being responsible for series of armed robberies, being granted with gifts -- Mark Mardon getting control of the weather and Clyde Mardon having the mastery over wind and precipitation. Clyde Mardon was played by Chad Rook. Many viewers may have assumed that the Weather Wizard only has that part in the series in that particular episode but he obviously did not.
Remember that scene when the brothers' plane was turned into scrap metal by the S.T.A.R. Labs disaster? Mark Mardon's fate was never explained, right? So this could be the main reason for it, for them to explain what really happened to him and how is he going to act on his brother's death.
Thus, it is only safe to assume that Mark Mardon's main target in the series is the one behind his brother's death, Barry Allen's (The Flash) adoptive father Detective Joe West which is played by Jesse L. Martin, says Screen Rant's Andrew Dyce.
This definitely agrees with the short description provided by Comic Book. It says, "Mark Mardon, brother to Clyde Mardon, returns to Central City to get justice for his brother's untimely death. Mark uses his powers, similar to Clyde's ability to control the weather, to go on a rampage to find the man that shot Clyde...Joe West."
IGN meanwhile reported that it has confirmed with The CW that McIntyre will appear in two episodes of the first season -- episode 15 and 16. It also revealed that the 16th episode is entitled "Rogue Time."
McIntyre adds to a number of "Spartacus" actors and actresses who joined CW's DC Comic series. The cast list of "Arrow" includes Manu Bennet as Deathstroke, Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Amanda Waller, Katrina Law as Nyssa Raatko or Nyssa al Ghul, and Nick Tarabay as Captain Boomerang.
Hollywood Reporter notes that the Weather Wizard first appeared in "The Flash" comics No. 110 in 1959.
"The Flash" series goes back on air on January 20. It airs on CW on Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
