Gamers are getting excited for the official launch of the first episode of "Resident Evil Revelations 2", featuring a barrage of new nightmarish monsters.
Bloody-Disgusting.com reported that game developer Capcom featured creatures that lean on the freakish and gory. Capcom featured a variety of new ugly monsters on "Resident Evil Revelations 2" on its Facebook page.
Particularly, IGN reported that two new monster types were revealed in the recent images. The first enemy type is the Othrus, described as a virus-infected wild beast. The creature looks like a fusion between a dog and a pig. It is small, vicious and attacks in packs. Capcom suggested that players kill off a few along the way before the numbers become overwhelming. The Othrus has been seen in both Barry and Claire's sections.
The second type is the Sploder, which is a mutated version of the Afflicted. The creature has several pustules all over its body that can explode when attacked, so it will be ideal that you kill these off from a distance. Should any Sploder explode nearby, a vile liquid will be released that can blind the character.
Furthermore, LazyGamer reported that the horrendous Revenant will also be available in "Resident Evil Revelations 2." A Revenant appeard to be made up of several body parts sewn together. It is a difficult enemy that carries a virus inside, forming a core. The core is its weak spot so gamers should aim for it to cause huge damage. Natalia's special ability allows players to see the core on every enemy.
The second trailer, which lasted just over one and a half minutes, also showed the return of Barry Burton. He was searching for his daughter Moira on an island. He moved through abandoned warehouses and the woods to unveil the horrors lurking within.
More abominations are expected to appear when the first episode officially releases. So far, gamers liked how the game felt true to its "Resident Evil" roots.
Capcom also stated on the "Resident Evil Revelations 2" Facebook page that the game will be available in four downloadable episodes. The first episode is set to debut on February 17, 2015 in North America, then the rest of the world on February 18. Each episode will cost $5.99 and there is also a digital download of the Complete Season available for $24.99 plus a retail boxed version that will follow. Prices will differ depending on the retailer and location.
