Apple's coffers are overflowing with revenue from the record-breaking iPhone 5, but the Cupiterno-based company hasn't shown all of its cards for this holiday season quite yet. Apple Insider recently reported on a video showcasing a mock-up of the much rumored iPad mini, which was originally posted on the Japanese blog Mac Otakara.
Although the mock-up isn't functional, it should give consumers an idea of the device's eventual dimensions. Digital Trends observes that the model has a "questionable bezel size," and is "missing the tell-tale black insert on the device's rear shell which serves as a window for cellular radio signals." The tech site also notes that the video highlights a "fabricated front glass" in the front of the unit. Keep in mind that this mock-up could be a representation of only one of many prototypes.
Rumors suggest that the final device will sport a 7.85-inch display with 1024 x 768 resolution, an A5X CPU, a base storage model with 8GB, and will run iOS 6. AllThingsD asserts that the tablet will be announced in October. In terms of pricing, Analyst Rhoda Alexander of HIS iSuppli states that a cost of $299 would allow Apple to "sit in a comfortable place as far as profit" is concerned.
While there is a steady stream of iPad mini leaks, it's important to keep in mind that the device has not been officially announced, or even acknowledged by Apple. Any and all rumors must be taken with a grain of salt. Stay tuned to Latinos Post for any and all updates on Apple's new device.
