Even if Apple has not yet launched or confirmed the rumored MacBook Air with Retina display, many reports are suggesting that these next generation laptops are worth the wait as these are expected to come with awesome features.

The Fuse Joplin said that the 2014 MacBook Air have left many Apple fans disappointed. But these next generation MacBooks are expected to surprise and amaze users as they will finally now get the Retina display which had already been in other Apple products such as MacBook Pro, iMac, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPod Touch, iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Mini.

IT Pro Portal even called the rumored new MacBook Air one of the "best MacBooks" to be released so far.

What features will the new MacBook get?

Touch ID feature

The International Business Times speculated that the new laptop might get a Touch ID feature which is currently available on some of the latest iPhones -- iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. However, Gadgets Insider believes otherwise, saying this feature may not make it to the new Macbook. These are all just speculations so we just have to wait for the official announcement from Apple.

New trackpad design

The new MacBook will also have a new trackpad design, Mac Rumors reported in March.

12 inches laptop but lighter and slimmer

Mac Rumors' report noted that the arrival of the 12-inch slim MacBook with a Retina display was first predicted by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. A separate report from Mac Rumors quoted Ming-Chi Kuo saying "We expect the unprecedented 12-inch model will boast both the portability of the 11-inch model, and productivity of the 13 inch model. The high resolution display will also offer the outstanding visual experience of the Retina MacBook Pro. The offering will likely be lighter and slimmer than the existing MacBook Air to further highlight ease of portability in the cloud computing era. We think the form factor will showcase a much improved clamshell structure, and that it will redefine laptop computing once again following the milestone created by the MacBook Air."

Intel Broadwell-U processor

According to the Fuse Joplin, the new MacBook Air is expected to get the new Intel Broadwell-U processor. These new chips, it noted, will pave the way for "thinner and quieter" but "faster" devices.

The new MacBook Air with Retina display was first rumored to be out in October but it apparently did not push through due to lack of supply of Intel's Broadwell chips, Apple Insider said. It also noted that the new MacBook will also likely not make it this Christmas. The report added that the new chips will also provide some power saving advantages.

A BGR report citing Taiwanese site Industrial and Commercial Times however argues that the new Retina MacBook Air may likely be released by the end of the year after Intel was able to ship Broadwell Core M chips to Apple. But Intel's PC Client Group general manager Kirk Skaugen was quoted in a separate report of The Motley Fool saying that the processors will be launched in the upcoming spring.

iOS integration

The Fuse Joplin said that the new MacBook Air might be released with the iOS integration. This means that users can use it interchangeably with other Apple gadgets such as iPads, iPods, and iPhones.

Improved charging method

The charging method of the rumored new MacBook Air, the Fuse Joplin said, might also be upgraded. It also added the possibility of having a wireless charging capability for the device.

Release date

With the availability of the new Intel Broadwell-U processors, University Herald predicts that the new MacBook Air with Retina display will also likely be unveiled in spring next year.
