Ancient civilization history enthusiasts rejoice! Nat Geo Mundo is premiering a new show called "La Dama de Cao: El Misterio de la Momia Tatuada," on Sept. 27 that covers the ancient pre-Columbian Moche Civilization of modern-day Peru.

Viewers will be transported to ancient Moche Civilization after an exciting discovery was made by archaeologist in Peru, who uncovered the first-known female ruler of the pre-Columbian society. Known as the 'Dama de Cao,' the young ruler governed her people over 1,600 years ago and was recently discovered in Cao Viejo, Peru.

The discovery not only unearthed valuable information about this puzzling female ruler, but also gave archaeologist an important window to the Moche Civilization and its social, political and religious way of life.

According to Nat Geo Mundo, 'la Dama de Cao,' who died at the young age of 25, played an essential role in her society. The discovery of her mummy, in near perfect condition, allowed the international archaeological community to better understand the roles women played in the ancient civilization.

"La Dama de Cao: El Misterio de la Momia Tatuada" will premiere on Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. on Nat Geo Mundo.
