Nintendo announced on December 5 that "Star Fox" Wii U will be released in 2015.
At the Games Award 2014 event, the Japanese game developer did not confirm the specific date of the launch, although many expect "Star Fox" Wii U to be available in summer 2015. It is expected to release ahead of "The Legend of Zelda," which is set to be available in spring 2015. Both games will be playable on the Wii U gaming console by Nintendo, based on a report by UncoverMichigan.com.
Shigeru Miyamoto, legendary game designer of Nintendo, made the announcement for "Star Fox" for Wii U, based on the same report by UncoverMichigan.com, "'Starfox' will arrive before 'The Legend Of Zelda' next year."
Miyomoto, together with producer Eiji Aonuma, featured the upcoming Zelda game through a demo and shared that the new "Star Fox" game will release in 2015. In a report by WiiUDaily.com, the two producers talk about the new Zelda game for about three minutes.
Then, Aonuma asked Miyamoto, "By the way, Miyamoto, how about your Starfox title?" Miyamoto replied, "What? Starfox? You're asking me that now? No worries about Starfox. Starfox will arrive before 'The Legend Of Zelda' next year. The way you use the GamePad [in Starfox] is starting to feel really good."
It will be the first time that Star Fox returns to gaming devices in a span of almost 10 years. The last related release was "Star Fox Command" for the Nintendo DS in 2006. Inquisitr.com opined that the main focus will most likely be on air battles since the game will heavily depend on the gamepad. There is no word yet whether on-foot elements will be included in the game.
IGN reported that when players use the gamepad screen, they will have the first person view with the aiming reticle. Aiming is done using the gamepad, while the left stick is used for flying so gamers get a combination of the two controls. Flying routes can also be fixed while aiming via the gamepad. Star Fox Wii U allows players more freedom when using the gamepad.
According to Nintendo.com, the Wii U GamePad controller creates a second window in video gaming, which removes traditional barriers. There is a 6.2-inch aspect ratio LCD touch screen, two analog sticks and traditional button controls. Other features are also available such as motion control, stereo speakers, NFC support and front-facing camera, among others.
