"Loadout," the third person shooter video game is coming to PlayStation 4 on December 16, confirms developer Edge of Reality in the PlayStation Blog.
Released on PC earlier this year, the PS4 version will roll out along with several freebies for PS Plus members including the co-op campaign mode and a free download of the SuperFan Bonus Pack, reports IGN.
The SuperFan Bonus Pack allows players to change the skins of the game's characters with "stylish and slightly radioactive body paint in the classic PS4-themed blue and whites," describes the PlayStation Blog.
Greg Bauman of Edge of Reality, who wrote the piece on "Loadout" on the PlayStation Blog, also invited PS4 gamers to come and play the game at the PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas.
"You can join us at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, where we'll be meeting and greeting fans, comparing gun choices, arguing who could beat who in a fight, and showing off 'Loadout' on PS4 for the first time," Bauman writes.
"Last week, we told you that 'Loadout' was going to launch on PS4 in the near future. But today, I'm here to tell you just how near the future is: you'll be able to download and play 'Loadout' for free via PlayStation Store on Tuesday, December 16, 2014," the Edge of Reality executive announces.
Although considered similar in terms of gameplay to "Team Fortress 2", "Loadout" is reportedly better because of its wide plethora of weapons combinations, which is one of its key features. The others are the shooter's deep customization options and well-designed maps, cites IGN.
Bauman also mentioned about the multitude of weapons that "Loadout" boasts: "We've got a lot in store for everyone. It's not just the billions of guns. We'd feel downright rude if we weren't including the billions of guns. No. There's way more than we've packed into 'Loadout.'"
"Our game is as shiny and exciting as any casino; it's just that instead of shooting craps, you shoot the crap out of everyone. Add a horde of hardcore PS4 fans into the mix for PlayStation Experience, and I think the odds are pretty great for us to all have a wonderful time," notes Bauman.
PS4 gamers who won't be able to make it to Las Vegas for the PlayStation Experience event can just wait for "Loadout" in less than two weeks.
"Aside from a free gift for PlayStation Plus (members), 'Loadout' will show up on your PS4 on December 16 along with friend-annihilating fun times and a gigantic pile of different combinations just in time for the season of giving away all of your ammo at high speed," details Bauman in the PlayStation Blog.
