Wednesday was the much-awaited release date for the newest Apple mobile operating system, iOS 6.

Millions of Apple of fans waited with anticipation for the new upgrade, which promised added features and improvements to iOS devices. But it seems like iOS 6 brought more than great new features, it also brought along an unwanted Wi-Fi problem that may have been caused—and then solved—by Apple.

According to TechCrunch, users began complaining that they could not connect or remain connected to their Wi-Fi after completing the upgrade. Some Apple users even complained that the Wi-Fi option was not available or was greyed out. Reports of the problem first appeared on an Apple discussion board.

While the cause of the problem remains unknown, it appears that a certain Apple Web page was at fault.

CNET reported that Twitter user @tylerc discovered that iOS checks into Apple to make sure Wi-Fi does not require a login and that that page was down. He wrote, “Turns out iOS checks https://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html … to make sure WiFi doesn’t require login, but that page was 404′ing, so, disaster. Crazy!”

The page was later put back up, apparently by Apple, and that Wi-Fi connectivity was restored to iOS 6 users, CNET reported. Apple has not commented on the Wi-Fi issue.
