iOS 6 rolled out today alongside a new version of Siri, and Apple has programmed a number of impressive new functions into its unique voice command tool.

Whether users are curious about what's in theaters, need to look up the New York Giants' season stats, or simply feel the desire to post a new Facebook status, Apple's very own proprietary assistant has their back.

With today's update, Siri now has the ability to send Facebook and Twitter updates with a simple voice command. Siri can include hashtags, mention other twitter accounts, and generally provide all of the functionality that one would typically require a keyboard for.

During her hiatus, Siri became well versed in film. Cinephiles will be happy to know that, when asked, Siri will present consumers with a listing of movies based on a number of unique criteria that she recognizes, such as cast and crew names. iOS 6 users will be presented with matching results that contain Rotten Tomatoes review scores for reference. The assistant will also list local theaters' showtimes as well.

For the app addicts out there, Siri can now launch software with a simple command.

Asking Siri about league stats and rankings, game scores, and player records will prompt the assistant to search the internet for answers that fall inside the user's criteria.

Another noteworthy addition is the ability to set reservations through the OpenTable app. With a command, Siri will interface with the app and provide recommendations, reviews, and restaurant information. If the user doesn't need to review this information, they can just go right ahead and tell Siri when the reservation should be and how many people will be attending.

iOS 6 is now available for owners of the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, the 3rd-gen iPad, or 4th-gen iPod Touch, and will be prepackaged with the iPhone 5 at launch on September 21.
