Samsung Electronics is about to release another Galaxy A phone following its unveiling of the sleek and full metal phones Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 last October.
The company on October 31 unveiled Samsung's "slimmest smartphones to date" -- the Samsung Galaxy A5 and Samsung Galaxy A3 which measure 6.7 mm and 6.9 mm thin, respectively. Samsung's CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communication JK Shin said in a statement that the two new devices "offer a beautifully crafted full metal unibody, slim design, superior hardware and the best possible social media experience." He added that the two devices specifically cater to "young and trend conscious consumers."
According to the press release, the two new devices which are packed with 5MP front-facing camera, LTE Category 4 standard, Super AMOLED display, Adaptive Display technology, and Quad Core 1.2 GHz processor are set to be out in the Chinese market in November this year. It added that the devices will be available in several colors including Pearl White, Midnight Black, Platinum Silver, Soft Pink, Light Blue and Champagne Gold.
It has never been a secret that the Korean electronics giant is having a rough time following declining profits. Phone Arena even said that there have been reports that the company will cut jobs and fire employees.
To be able to get back on its place, Samsung is also planning to lessen phone releases next year, Phones Review reported. It added that the new Samsung A Series could be the one to uplift the company as it sees the Galaxy S lineup not really working good for the firm.
To quote them, "...the Samsung A Series could be the new mid-range offering from Sammy for 2015. We can't foresee the Galaxy S lineup going anywhere, but a revamp of Sammy's mid-range line would certainly be welcome. Would you be interested in a 64-bit midranger from Samsung if the price is right?"
Although the new Samsung Galaxy A7 was not unveiled together with the Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5, Phones Review noted that the new Samsung Galaxy A7 will be shown soon and "will arrive in the very near future" as the device has finally passed through FCC.
Meanwhile, Sam Mobile disclosed some of the features and specifications of the new Galaxy A7. The device which measures 150mm tall and 75mm wide has 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, and A-GPS. It added that it will be a 5.2-inch phone with 1080p display. As for the processor, it will reportedly get an octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC with 64-bit CPU cores and Adreno 405 GPU. The device will get a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. For the camera, it is eyed to have a 12-megapixel rear facing camera with 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Sam Mobile also aired the possibility that the new device was delayed due to signal strength issues which were earlier reported in both of the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5 devices. Samsung however has not announced anything yet.
