Just a day after the official simultaneous roll out of "Grand Theft Auto V" on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on November 18, gamers have started comparing the graphics of the video game on the two next generation gaming consoles.

The verdict? Both versions have nearly identical graphics except for the thickness or denseness of foliage or the lack thereof in the Xbox One version compared to the PS4 in a certain portion of the game, reports BGR.

The difference became clear during a video comparison made by GTA enthusiast and astute YouTube user iLewisGTA when he ran the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game side by side.

"Although it's nearly impossible to tell the difference between the two (versions) for most of the video, something very peculiar happens (from the) 6:36 mark of the video," points out BGR.

"At first, they don't appear to point to a gigantic disparity resulting from PS4's power advantage. But a more thorough investigation reveals that the PS4 version has more detail, particularly in the foliage department," notes Forbes.

Immediately after the release of "GTA 5", a team at Eurogamer's Digital Foundry started making a performance analysis of the game on both PS4 and Xbox One.

They found out that other than a few dropped frames, "GTA 5" performs equally in both consoles at 1080p resolution and 30 FPS even in the most graphically intense scenarios.

According to Forbes, the difference can be noticed "particularly when the player gets out of the city and out into the wilds of Blaine County. PS4 has a lot more foliage, leading to a more realistic and fully realized world."

BGR also shares the same opinion when it said: "Performance (between PS4 and Xbox One) doesn't seem to be a deciding factor, but there is clearly a marked difference in texture quality, at least when it comes to foliage."

"It's not as if extra blades of grass will affect the way you play the game, but it does look a little awkward," it added.

"It's not the biggest difference in the world, and it doesn't make it a different game. But if you've got a PS4, it can't help to look at all that pretty grass and feel good about that GPU humming beneath your television," cites Forbes.

Digital Foundry is continuing a thorough examination of the game on both consoles and is in fact giving fans updates almost on a daily basis.
