According to an exclusive report of Phandroid, updating Android Wear smartwatches with the Android 5.0 Lollipop will result in some additional impressive features to the device.

Here are some of the changes you should eye in the new Android Wear 5.0 Lollipop update as revealed by Phandroid.

Battery

With the new update, users now can view a Watch Battery Page that is somehow similar to that of those you can find in your phones or tablets. Users can now see a graph that shows how much battery the smartwatch still has. It will also show what apps are using much battery and which does not.

Storage

Just like the Watch Battery Page, the Watch Storage now showcases a feature that reveals through the Wear companion app which apps are taking too much of the device's storage. Phandroid also noted that users can now store music on their wearables.

Watch Face

According to 9to5google, one of the major changes in this new Android Wear version is the watch face API.

To quote 9to5google, "New watch faces taking advantage of the update will be able to do a lot more than they could before."

At least 16 new watch faces are included in the update. Also, users can now see weather updates directly on the face with the new weather icons.

Screenshots of the new faces can be viewed here while screenshots of the weather icons can be viewed here.

New brightness modes

The update also features two new brightness modes -- the theatre mode and the sunlight mode.

Dismissed cards recovery

With the new update, users can now recover dismissed notification cards. All they have to do is to swipe upward and undo it.

More usable for visually impaired

The Android Wear Lollipop has also made changes designed for those with visual disabilities. Users can now choose to have larger text. They can also use color inversion. Plus there will be magnification gestures. All of these can be edited in the Settings menu.

"OK Google"

A revamp was also implemented in the main action menu. The main action menu is usually launched either by tapping the screen or by voicing "OK Google." The menu will now be reordered depending on the ones that the user has used the most. This will be an easier way to command. Phandroid said that this feature is no longer new as it has already been seen in the Google Glass.

Release Date

Phandroid said that they are "hearing" that the update will be available by December. No confirmation or statement from Google has been made about this.
