The Jonas Brothers always had an almost squeaky-clean reputation, but that's because we knew them as kids. Now, they're all grown up and making it on their own: with Nick Jonas dropping a single that has an expletive in it.
Yes, Nick is growing up and is not afraid of getting dirty, as far as his lyrics went, anyway. According to Fuse TV, he has the best solo effort among the Jonas Brothers, with his hit song "Jealous" making it to No. 27 on the Billboard Charts, and the remix version is far from the cutesy lyrics when he collaborates with his bros.
In the original song, Nick's lyrics were on the sexy side, singing, "You're too sexy, beautiful / And everybody wants a taste."
But in his new version collaborating with Chanteuse Tinashe, it got steamy, changing the line to "You're too f*cking beautiful / And everybody wants your sex."
Listen to it here:
Sure, that's not too much of a big deal for other artists, but this is a Jonas brother we're talking about, and Nick is telling his fans in his own way that he's stripping clean of that "good boy" Disney child-actor image.
The changes that Nick Jonas is showing seem to not be limited to song lyrics alone, He even changed the way he looked becoming more buff in the process. He wasn't oblivious to fans' reactions, telling ABC News, "It was pretty interesting to watch the reaction. I feel like the best way to approach it is to not take it too seriously."
His physical transition is also an effect of his healthy lifestyle. ABC News sad that he's managing his Type 1 diabetes and getting intense training when he got cast in a mixed martial arts competition called "Kingdom." He packed on muscle through cardio and strength training sessions.
His current girlfriend, Olivia Culpo is also an inspiration, he confided, "My brothers were kind of making fun of me a little bit as I was doing it because I was getting really big. But my girlfriend is also really into fitness so it's nice to have a teammate, a partner, who is down to do it with me and kind of explore that with me."
He said about his lifestyle, "I'm the kind of person that loves a challenge and I had reached a point right before it when I was just ready."
But as far as the music goes, he's happy about his change, telling the website, "I feel like in a lot of ways, I'm starting over and that's an amazing feeling. It feels like a really natural transition."
