South Korean multinational company Samsung is set to release next year a new flagship device that will reportedly have a 20 megapixel camera and quad HD display.
The Christian Today predicts that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be launched on February 15 despite the Samsung Galaxy S5 still being relatively new in the market. Valuewalk, meanwhile, is eyeing a much later release date -- March 2015. It said it expects it to be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Samsung has not yet announced or commented on any of these.
20-megapixel camera?
According to Sam Mobile, one of the best features the Samsung Galaxy S6 will have is the new camera. Citing an "insider," Sam Mobile revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S6's camera sensor will be an IMX240 which the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 also has. It however revealed that it is not yet confirmed if the device will get a 20-megapixel or 16-megapixel camera.
Valuewalk tries to be optimistic saying that the new device will probably get a 20 megapixel camera. But Sam Mobile said that Samsung may likely stick to the 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization. It added that the Samsung Galaxy S6's front camera will also get an upgrade. It will now possess a 5-megapixel front camera.
Quad HD and 4k resolution
Sam Mobile predicts that the new flagship device will get a Quad HD (2560×1440) display.
Techradar earlier reported that Samsung is planning to produce phones that have 4K resolution. However, another Techradar report said that it would probably surprise many users. But Valuewalk is optimistic that the new device would get a screen resolution boost.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to have a bigger screen. It said that it maybe upgraded to 5.2 or 5.3 inches. A Samsung Galaxy S6 with an "entirely curved screen" meanwhile is what Valuewalk is expecting.
Storage
As for the storage, Sam Mobile's take is that the new Samsung Galaxy S6 may come in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB variants. There is also a possibility that a 16 GB Samsung Galaxy S6 might be crossed off the list.
Snapdragon 808 or 810
The Samsung Galaxy S6 would probably get either a Snapdragon 808, a "six-core 64-bit processor," or Snapdragon 810 processor, an "octa-core 64-bit chip," Techradar said. Valuewalk and Sam Mobile is quite firm in saying that the device would get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset.
4GB RAM?
While Techradar claims that that the new device will have a 4GB RAM, Sam Mobile guesses that it will retain its 3 GB RAM which the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has. The Samsung Galaxy S5 only has 2GB of RAM.
Android 5.0 Lollipop
What is only clear is that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will still run Android, that's for sure. This was earlier confirmed by Google senior vice president Sundar Pichai. Pichai said that the Samsung and Google are in good terms and that both are "always collaborating on projects," BGR.com reported. He even revealed that he prefers if the new Samsung wearables such as the Gear 2 used Android instead of Tizen.
With the recent release of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, many are very positive that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will get this as operating system. Samsung has not yet confirmed this but it has been speculated that many of its devices will get the Lollipop update, as reported by Latinospost.
