Point guard extraordinaire Chris Paul is set to launch his eighth signature shoe.
On November 5, the Jordan CP3.VIII will be released at a retail price of $130. The shoes will be available at Nike.com, Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker and Eastbay.com.
The Jordan CP3.VIII features a black, white and infrared colorway. The creation and design of the shoe highly involved Chris Paul himself, presenting a minimalist and clean appearance while providing ultimate responsiveness, performance and speed. It is a great shoe for guards, and includes elements which Nike described as "similar to a superhero's kit with concealed secret weapons."
There are special elements that can be found on the shoe that's unique only to the CP3 line. There is a family tree placed on the inner part of the tongue, working well with the classic chevron design that pays homage to the Paul ancestors. The outsole of the basketball shoes is white, the upper, tongue and insole are black and the shoelaces and laceloops are red. The midsole also features an infrared tone that gradually fades to black midway. A white Jumpman logo can be found at the heel cup while a white CP3 logo is stitched on the tongue.
Kicks on Fire reported that the Jordan CP3.VIII showcases a no-sew construction. The overlays are fused to the engineered textile upper so there are no stitches found on the material. The sneaker also has layered cushioning systems. Lunarlon and Phylon are below the heel while Zoom is placed in the forefoot so players can expect great and comfortable fit and cushioning. There is a TPU chassis and Flight Web on the midfoot that provides stability and excellent lockdown so Paul can make fast cuts and crossovers with ease.
In the same Nike.com report, the shoes were built for speed. The textile upper is lightweight but provides great support. The synthetic overlays also add to the strength of the shoe. There are rubber pods positioned at high-contact areas. The CP3.VIII has a 5/8 height and a special inner sleeve that gives players a sock-like fit. Finally, the outsole features an herringbone pattern for good traction, allowing individuals to make sudden stops and change directions immediately.
According to Sneaker News, Chris Paul has been wearing a number of colorways since the start of the 2014 NBA season, including the NIKEiD "LA Nights". Buyers can create their own designs and pick from a palette of colors at NIKEiD.
