Rockstar, the developer of "Grand Theft Auto 5", promised online heist missions during the video game's official launch last year, much to the excitement of gamers.

The company will finally fulfill that promise as it has just confirmed on Sunday that the DLC is to be released soon as well as the 1.18 update patch to the action-adventure game this week, reports the Express of UK.

"We know many of you in the GTA Online community are super excited for the debut of cooperative heists. Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more details in the New Year," Rockstar said in its website.

While the company did not specify any date for the release of the "Online Heists" for "GTA 5", it was clear that Rockstar is eyeing a 2015 launch.

"Expect big things in both 'Grand Theft Auto Online' and 'Grand Theft Auto V' next year including the GTA Online Heists," it further proclaimed.

Update Patch and DLCs

Meanwhile the 1.18 update patch to "Grand Theft Auto V Online" shall have two contents that include the Deathmatch and Race Creators tool.

"This week, we will give you the first chance to build your own content in GTA Onlie with the release of Deathmatch and Race Creators Beta," Rockstar said in a statement.

"With access to some of the same tools as our own game design and development team, you can craft your own custom blood-soaked gunflights, high-octane street races, screaming jet dogfights and more," Rockstar added.

According to the Australian edition of the International Business Times, the 1.18 update patch shall also contain one DLC. It is believed to contain Halloween-related themes including zombies, chainsaws, skeletons, and scary masks.

Fans and gamers alike are even requesting Rockstar to include werewolves and vampires in the update patch, cites the report.

The IB Times also said that Rockstar has hinted of a DLC to mark the Veterans Day shall also be part of the 1.18 update patch. The supposed content shall have hydra jets and attack helicopters to symbolize the special occasion.

The patch can be dowloaded here once Rockstar makes it official.

The developer has also announced a DLC content for "Grand Theft Auto V" in 2014 but has not specified any release date as of yet, cites Express.

Meanwhile, pundits in the gaming community think that the heists DLC for "Grand Theft Auto V Online" will become available earlier than 2015, notes the International Business Times.

They believe that the content could become available when "Grand Theft Auto V" is released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18. The PC version of the game is slated for a January 27, 2015 release, added the report.
