Renee Zellweger has been known to play the cute and adorable Bridget Jones, but while the role was given to her years ago, nobody expected to see a totally new Renee when she strutted on the red carpet during Elle's 21st Annual Women in Hollywood Awards. The uproar about her new look threw her off at first, but she later rallied on and quit caring about what others think.
According to a source from Hollywood Life, "Renee never had any clue that people would be going crazy about her face and now that people have been talking about it so much, it has really taken an emotional toll on her. She was very upset and cried about it, but as the day continued, her boyfriend, Doyle, put her at ease and made her feel better. He helped her look at the whole situation in a different light."
The source also added, "Renee now thinks that everyone can go screw themselves if they think she looks bad. To hell with them is how she feels! Renee has a few new movies she's excited about and she's going to focus on them rather than the whole controversy that has presented itself."
The actress, herself, did not admit to having any work done, but according to Dr. Alex Karidis of London's Karidis Clinic who spoke with The Daily Mail, he believes that Renee have had an upper eye lift. Dr. Karidis, who has never treated Zellweger, says that "the distance between the brow and her eye is much smaller than before."
He also said that Renee's brows didn't seem higher, suggesting that she didn't get a brow lift done, although the wrinkle-free forehead could mean that she has had Botox. Dr Karidis explained, "Her forehead is smooth - you would expect more expressive wrinkles when she smiles which indicates a possible small dose of Botox between the eyelid and eye."
Lastly, he thought that she could also have had non-surgical treatments like ultrasound therapy for skin firming, and medical grade facials to keep her skin bright and rid of skin cells.
Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Stuart Linder spoke with Entertainment Online and said that he speculates that Renee has had Botox and underwent upper eyelid surgery. He also added facelift and necklift in the list of possible procedures that the actress has had to have that look.
Dr. Linder said, "Renee's transformation is very, very significant. It is very likely that she's had several different procedures done."
