Once Upon a Time returns to ABC on September 30, picking up where the game-changing season one finale left off.
For the uninitiated, Once adapts age old fairy tales in a modern setting. The Evil Queen, played by Lana Parrilla, casts a curse on the entire land that takes away everyone's happy ending, turning the tables and at last granting the villain a happy ending. The series was created by a pair of Lost writers, which is reflected by the fact that half of the show depicts stories that took place pre-curse in the magical land, and half take place in the town of Storybrook, where fairy tale characters live out their lives as regular people with no memory of their past lives. Spoilers to follow: you have been warned.
When we last left off, Emma Swan, Snow White and Prince Charming's daughter, broke the curse and unleashed magic upon the town of Storybook, restoring everyone's memory of their past lives.
Josh Dallas spoke to KSITE TV and noted, "I think it changes for every character in the show, because the curse has been lifted."
"Magic has come to Storybrooke. He remembers his old life; his old memories, his old emotions. He remembers who he is at the core, which I think as always been fighting to come out of David, and because of the curse, it was never possible," he adds.
New addition Jamie Chung can be seen portraying the hero Mulan in the trailer for season two.
Now that the illusion of a normal life has broken, it remains to be seen how the Evil Queen/Regina will answer for her actions. The promo highlights Regina fending off an unknown man with her magical powers in what appears to be the town hall, so it will be interesting to see how her character copes without the power of secrecy. Another unknown is whether or not Mr. Gold will emerge as this season's villain.
On September 30, fans will be able to catch season two premiere at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC
