A video featuring a sleepwalking mom and her son has gone viral this week, making it one of the most popular videos on YouTube in just four days. The video, called 'My Mom Sleepwalking (Tomato Cage),' has garnered over a million views on the video sharing site and spawned a reaction video, aptly titled 'Mom's Reaction to Her Sleepwalking Video.'
Under the username, 'stillsoundlyawake,' Nick Foti filmed his mother in her pajamas, dancing in their kitchen and recreating a dream she was having. Foti begins the video by asking his mother, "And what exactly are you doing ma'am." To which his mother responds with "It's a special code," and goes on to explain that she is trying to open a particularly difficult tomato cage.
Foti told Latinos Post that he decided to post the video for a challenge he is participating with his friends called 60-Second September, where players must post a 60-second video for each day of September. "For this one, I happened to have my phone on me when I waltzed into the kitchen at 2 a.m. to make some tea, and I guess you could say my mom was doing some waltzing of her own," Foti said.
"I think it's hilarious," Foti said of the video. "But I never would have thought it would catch fire like this! That said, I'm extremely grateful and excited that people are finding my content," he added.
Following the popularity of his first video, Foti decided to record his mother's reaction to her sleepwalking, which has garnered over two million views on YouTube. Foti said his mother, who is not only getting attention on the video sharing site but in the media, "loves" the video and that "She's a good sport."
As of Monday, Foti and his mother's videos were among the top eight videos on YouTube's Most Popular list.
