One Direction's Harry Styles is sporting a new do. And it's not the headbands and man buns that he has been known for. This time, it's French braids!
In a report by Hollywood Life, Lou Teasdale, the hairstylist of the English pop singer-songwriter and actor, posted the photo of Harry's new do on her Instagram page last week.
Teasdale even capped the Instagram post by proudly writing: "Ladies and gentlemen, my male grooming skillz."
Harry Styles' hair seems to grow longer every day and his foray into the French braids hairstyle indicates that the member of the One Direction boy band further upped his ante in the hair game.
Instead of French braids, the Independent however referred to Harry's new do as an "elaborate man-bun."
The Independent alluded that Styles patterned his new hairstyle with that of Irish UFC Champion Conor McGregor. McGregor's man-bun hairstyle is reported to be setting trends these days around the U.K.
Styles and McGregor's hairdo feature braided details into their buns, but the UFC Champion preferred his in corn-row style, cited the report.
Meanwhile, in an interview by Hollywood Life, Teasdale explained: "Harry's hair needs to dry naturally with a bit of Fudge Urban Iced Rasperry and Vanilla Styling Mousse to get the curls out."
She detailed that drying natural curls should be done the natural way. A dryer is an option but it should be set on a warmer mode accompanied by scrunching of the fingers. Teasdale said it is not advisable to brush natural curls because the person will just end up with frizz.
"Recently I've been blow-drying Harry's hair into a quiff and sticking a bit of Rocker Wax so he looks a bit more grown up," Teasdale said to Hollywood Life.
The Independent cited that Harry Styles is as famous for his long Mick Jagger-esque locks as he is his voice. But the One Direction singer is hoping for a more practical style.
"I really like it. But sometimes it gets in the way, especially when I'm running," Harry Styles was quoted by The Independent in a recent interview.
People had been looking for Harry Styles' previous haircut, the more slicked back look. But recently, it's been the shaved sides and ponytail look that has become more popular, The Independent report said.
One Direction is coming off a spectacular tour, wrapping it up with a successful show in Miami on October 5.
