Yet another pair is added to the list of shocking splits this year, and it's bye-bye to the pair that is Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks.
In a shocking turn of event, it wasn't the couple who spoke up about the why of their breakup, but a third party, who claimed that Derulo had been cheating on his girlfriend of three years.
Model Carmen Ortega said in Star Magazine that she had an affair with Derulo while he was still dating Sparks. However, it was not completely her fault as she claimed that she did not know that Derulo was in a relationship during the time that she was seeing him.
She also told the publication that they dated for a month, adding that "We went out in public with friends a few times, so I assumed he didn't have a girlfriend." Once she found out about Jordin, she claimed that she took it to her own hands to cut ties with the singer, but that "He tried telling me their relationship was strictly fueled by management teams. He lied to me the entire time."
It is not sure whether or not Ortega's words could be taken to heart. The Daily Mail noted that this is not the first time the model asserted that she broke up a couple's relationship. In 2009, she also made the same assertions about Reggie Bush while he was still with socialite Kim Kardashian.
On another note, Derulo spoke about the breakup on Us Weekly, insisting that the breakup was amicable. He said, "I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met. But as in all relationships there are ups and downs and at this time we have decided to amicably part."
He also added, "Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up, and I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives."
Meanwhile, Sparks had a sit down with Wendy Williams on USA Today and insisted that she's fine about the breakup, saying, "I'm good, really no really, I'm good. I know you think that I'm not good but really, I'm good."
But when asked about whether or not Derulo did cheat on her, she just said "I actually don't want to comment on that."
So what do you think is the real story?
