In a report by Nike.com, a design team collaborated with Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin to create a great pair focused on enhancing performance and flight. The shoe was inspired by Griffin's high-flying style of play. The objective was to come up with a basketball shoe that would help boost his explosiveness and jumping power even more.
Some of the key design features include the evolved FlightPlate, which adds power for flight. The Nike Zoom unit is located in the forefront of the shoes for enhanced energy return. The outsole pattern was based on the Air Jordan XX9, incorporating multidirectional traction that responds well on indoor and outdoor courts. There are synthetic overlays on the upper of the shoe, providing great heel and toe support. The upper design was inspired by a sonic boom, displaying a lively pattern that garners attention during play. Wave designs are also visible on the upper, giving it more character. The lightweight textile panels boost the durability of the shoe's exterior.
Bleacher Report wrote that the Jordan Super Fly 3 also includes a Flight Web fit system for superior lockdown and support when making sudden stops, cuts and jumps. There are webbed straps that go around the foot. These integrate the shoelaces so players can feel the best fit at the midfoot. There is an inner sleeve that resembles a sock and a padded Achilles notch so ballers can get ultimate comfort and cushioning anywhere. The shoes are a great pair for forwards and big men. Blake Griffin is expected to showcase the shoes at the start of the regular NBA season.
The Jumpman logo appears on the heel area, tongue and outsole. Players who prefer more flair will like the pink, orange and eletro orange colorway while those who like a simpler design can go for the black and grey.
