It's less than a year before the release of the next "Fast & Furious" film, but not much is known about the latest installment other than the addition of a few cast members. According to Entertainment Weekly, the details remain a mystery, but they will surely have a goodbye to Paul Walker's character.
What was supposed to be a July 2014 premiere was moved to nearly a year later following cast member Paul Walker's death that delayed filming due to extensive reshoots, script revisions, and budget inflations.
New photos from the movie are out courtesy of Vin Diesel who posted them on his Facebook page, with an announcement that he already saw the final trailer.
"Universal came to visit, to show the trailer for FF7...Speechless...yeah, it was that INCREDIBLE! I must also say, that it was emotional and bittersweet... we all went above and beyond to make Pablo proud, but man, I wish he could see what we have created and just how far we have come," the post read.
"Pablo" refers to Paul, whom Diesel shared a brother-like relationship with, as noted by Screenrant.
Diesel posted a few pictures from the film on his Facebook page, one of which showing a spiffy Dom Torreto (his character) next to Walker's character in a garage.
In the second still, Dom is shown to be getting ready for some ass-kicking as he wraps his fists solemnly.
The film has been considerably delayed after Walker's death late last year. In order to properly go about the series, MTV said that the franchise had to alter the story to address his death in the film. With the help of Walker's brothers, the storyline continued with additional scenes for an arc.
The release date for the trailer has not been divulged, but it may be soon. Screenrant noted that Universal still has a few major movies coming out later this year like "Dracula: Untold", "Gone Girl", and "Fury", which may be reasonable guesses for the official trailer release.
The article said that the future of the "Fast & Furious" franchise is still a mystery for now, considering the tragedy and turmoil to get the latest installment onscreen.
However, one thing is for sure: Walker will be given a farewell worthy of the role of his career.
"Fast & Furious 7" will premiere in theaters on April 3, 2015.
