Chris Smoove was featured in the latest trailer of the upcoming video game "NBA 2K15".
Chris Smoove is a YouTube personality who has established a reputation on the social media site by regularly putting up NBA 2K videos. He has close to 1.9 million subscribers on YouTube and is expected to grow more after appearing in the new MyCareer trailer.
In the beginning of the video on Chrissmove.com, the YouTube personality discussed how his face was scanned and invited others to comment about the new technology.
The new video, which lasts over three minutes, featured Chris Smoove, presented via the dynamic 3D face-scanning technology which will be available in the new game. He was scanned at the 2K Sports studio in Novato, California, to show gamers how realistic the images will be on "NBA 2K15". Players can scan their faces in the new game via Kinect camera or PlayStation 4 camera then start their quest on MyCareer or MyGM.
In an article by Bleacher Report, "NBA 2K15" MyCareer will go with a new storyline. The new Chris Smoove video explains, "The backstory is brand new. No more Jackson Ellis. No more Rookie Showcase. This time we're undrafted. We're gonna be fighting for 10-day contracts." The MyPlayer mode will begin the journey undrafted and, as shown in the dialogue with his agent, will have to earn his way to get picked by an NBA team. The season will also start in January, not October.
At the end of the scene, Chris Smoove further indicated that a new voice will be available for gamers. The previous versions of "NBA 2K" only featured one generic voice. Now, players can pick between the voice featured in the trailer and the same voice that was available in previous years. More customizations are expected to be available in MyPlayer and other modes when the game releases on October 7, the same time that the 2014-2015 NBA regular season commences.
Smoove said that the interesting backstory presents a new challenge for gamers and that the best part will be experiencing free agency this year. Since the character does not go through the normal drafting process, they get to experiment with free agency at the end of the season. Smoove hinted that 2K Sports has more in store for players later on as the game continues to unravel. He concluded that he will provide more details before the end of September 2014.
