"Monday Night Raw" on September 22 featured the aftermath of the "Night of Champions" on Sunday night.
At the "Night of Champions" the night before, Brock Lesnar and Sheamus were able to keep their belts against John Cena and Cesaro. Dean Ambrose also returned and expected to get some punishment from The Authority. As for what went down on "Monday Night Raw", here are 5 highlights of the evening:
1. Dean Ambrose's return
Ambrose started the evening by taking a steel chair in the ring and saying that he is not leaving until he battles Seth Rollins. John Cena suddenly entered the scene, saying that he also has an unsettled score with Rollins after the latter kept him from winning against Lesnar at "NOC". Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Randy Orton, Kane and Seth Rollins followed afterwards and a brawl ensued. The action backstage showed Rollins trying to fight off Ambrose and Cena.
2. Dolph Ziggler vsThe Miz
According to Wrestlinginc.com, The Miz arrived together with Damien Sandow, his stunt double. The battle for WWE Intercontinental belt followed afterwards with Ziggler and Miz exchanging blows and clotheslines. At one point, Ziggler managed to block the Skull Crushing Finale while Miz blocked the Figure Four. Later on, Miz successfully executed his signature move on Ziggler. Ziggler, however, got out of a two-count. Sandow also got involved in the fight. Finally, Ziggler capitalized with a roll up to get the belt from The Miz.
3. Kane vs. Dean Ambrose
The two began to exchange beatings quickly. Later, Ambrose successfully executed a DDT on Kane plus a missile dropkick. Kane countered with a chokeslam but Ambrose blocked it and nailed Dirty Deeds. With Ambrose at the advantage, Seth Rollins entered the ring, giving Ambrose the win by disqualification.
4. AJ vs. Nikki Bella
In an article by Bleacher Report, the two ladies brought the fight in and out of the ring, with Paige delivering mocking commentaries against AJ from the side. Nikki whipped AJ into Paige then placed her in an armbar. Nikki did an Alabama Slam and almost won but AJ did the Black Widow, winning via submission.
5. Mark Henry vs. Rusev
Rusev focused on hurting Henry's injured back early in the match. Henry managed to throw Rusev around but was obviously in pain. Henry scoop slammed Rusev and tossed him into the steel steps. He took Rusev back in the right to hit him with a Junkyard Dog headbutt. Henry attempted a splash from the corner but missed. Rusev executed The Accolade. Henry refused to tap and passed out instead, giving Rusev the victory.
